MATSA100Miler 2022


2022 marks the 3rd edition of the MATSA100Miler. So you think you have what it takes to conquer the MATSA? This is an event not to be taken lightly.
However, with a well-planned approach, it’s a very achievable challenge that will definitely transform you into the ultimate mountain biker! The Matsa100Miler will start this year at GUM TREE Lodge Kimberley and finishes at "HAP & TAP" Pub in Bloemfontein. The distance is relatively brief 162 kilometers which traverses through the topography the Northern Cape and Free State which include farm and district roads. The routes isn’t technical, but challenges riders due to the ruggedness of the terrain and a few hills to overcome. The full distance race starts with a flat section at Gum Tree Lodge before crossing out onto the Rietpan gravel road to the south. Riders will then make their way down and over the Modderiver. A long “drag” awaits the rider that will separate riders from each other, in to the finish at Hap &Tap Pub in Bloemfontein.
This Race open to solo participants, as well as a relay teams that consist out of four (4) riders, and relay teams of two (2) riders which will ride a distance of 80km each. 
The objective of this 100 Mile Challenge is to turn it into an experience which left the riders and guests with a lasting memory, also to create a fun, memorable experience. This Challenge will provide a platform where pro riders can challenge one another, while still catering for the masses who are enthusiastic, hobbyist riders. Gravel Bikes will be allowed this year, and will be in contention for podiums. The aim is to raise funds for Alzheimers South Africa.
Entry include:
7 Well serviced Hydration stations
MATSA Finisher medal
Refreshments at the finish which include food and something for your thirst.
Medical support on route as well as on route support for all riders.
Race date is preliminary due to COVID-19 Regulations and is limited as per lock down regulations
Riders are responsible for own accommodation and transport
