The route is 55km in distance and traverses through the historical Battle Fields of Paardeberg or Perdeberg (“Horse Mountain”) was a major battle during the Second Anglo-Boer War. It was fought near Paardeberg Drift on the banks of the Modder River in the Orange Free State near Kimberley. This route  includes jeep tracks,  district,  farm roads, battle fields and spectacular scenery for the riders. No technical sections.

The routes have been set out so that they offer riders great trails, spectacular scenery.

The Leswale MTB Funday is a family-oriented day and provides an outdoor experience to those who prefer to just kick back and enjoy the day. You’re sure to encounter an abundance of indigenous fauna and flora along the way. Keep an eye out for the Padloper tortoise – that always has right of way – and the kudu, springbok, dassie and meerkat. Should you look carefully around you, you’ll be sure to see local and migratory birds aplenty. The sheer endlessness of the expanse of the Freestate and Northern Cape plains will take your breath away – but fear not, for you will be inhaling the purest oxygen that our country can offer. Visitors and participants are invited to bring along your owns meat for the braai after the ride to Lewale Game Lodge. Come and breathe the unpolluted air, rub shoulders around the fires of a braai.

There will be something to drink on sale for the day.
